Rolling the Dice on Fun: Catering by John Lowe Takes on Monopoly at the Elverson Parade

Updated: Oct 23

Who says you can't play with your food? On Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, the Catering by John Lowe team traded in their aprons for top hats and thimbles as we joined the festive fun of the annual Elverson Parade. This year's theme? Board Games! And boy, did we land on the perfect square with our Monopoly-inspired entry.

Passing GO and Collecting Smiles

Our team, along with their families, transformed into a living, breathing Monopoly board. Custom property signs became our banners, and specially designed t-shirts turned us into a colorful array of game pieces. From the tiniest junior chef sporting a "Chance" card to our very own Sue Lowe looking dapper as Mr. Monopoly himself, we were quite the spectacle rolling down the streets of Elverson.

A Multi-Player Team Event

This parade isn't just about showing off our creative chops (though we do love a good theme). It's about giving our hardworking team a chance to step out of the kitchen and into the spotlight. For one magical evening, we trade the heat of the stove for the warmth of community spirit.

"It's my favorite night of the year," says Sue, our owner, boss, and friend. "Seeing the kids' eyes light up when they spot us at the parade – that's priceless."

Community Chest of Memories

The Elverson Parade has become a cherished tradition for Catering by John Lowe. We've time-traveled to the groovy 70s, got goosebumps with R.L. Stine, and even took a deep dive under the sea in previous years. Each theme brings its own flavor of fun, but the recipe for a good time always remains the same: mix equal parts creativity, laughter, and team spirit.

Investing in Team Spirit

At Catering by John Lowe, we believe that a team that plays together, stays together. Events like the Elverson Parade give us a chance to bond outside of our usual roles. It's not just about the costumes or the cheers from the crowd (though those are pretty great). It's about creating memories that last.
